L Zone is one of many zones proposed by DDA (Delhi Development Authority) for development. The plan of development is referred as Master Plan Delhi 2021 or MPD 2012. It is located at South West Delhi, is the largest among other zones - spread across 22860. Being national capital of India, Delhi holds significant importance. People from all walks of life migrate to Delhi for employment, work and better life. It is estimated that around 2.5 million people would migrate to Delhi in coming 4-5 years. In order to accommodate such a large diasporas, DDA and UDMI (Urban Development Ministry of India) decided to develop areas at outskirts of Delhi. It is believed to be the best in terms of connectivity and location. Because of location of this zone, it is likely to be first smart city of the capital.

Infrastructure for better access and connectivity will be started by DDA once land pooling is completed. Land pooling for L zone has already been started.
